OEM part description
Genuine Wolf gas safety valve used in the infrared broiler system of select "R" series gas ranges. The valve controls gas delivery to the upper infrared broiler burner when the broil system is operating and works together with the hot-surface igniter.
Part details
Wolf’s infrared broiler produces the intense top heat used for high-temperature broiling. If the safety valve fails to open, the broiler may not light even though the igniter is heating. Checking the igniter and ignition circuit before replacing the valve can help avoid replacing a good valve.
Tech Tip: If the broiler igniter is heating but the infrared burner will not light, do not assume the safety valve is automatically bad. Check the igniter and ignition circuit first.
