OEM part description
Genuine Sub-Zero freezer defrost terminator switch 7011174. The terminator is mounted directly to the freezer evaporator and responds to evaporator temperature during the defrost cycle. It allows the defrost system to operate when the evaporator is cold and opens as the evaporator warms, ending heater operation at the proper temperature.
Part details
A failed defrost terminator can interfere with the freezer’s automatic defrost cycle. If it fails open, the defrost heater may not operate correctly, allowing frost to build on the evaporator and eventually restrict airflow and affect freezer temperature.
