OEM part description
This genuine Sub-Zero freezer defrost terminator is mounted directly to the evaporator tubing and controls the temperature limit of the automatic defrost cycle. When the evaporator is cold, the switch allows the defrost circuit to operate. As the evaporator warms during defrost, the terminator opens and stops the defrost heater from continuing to heat the evaporator.
Part details
The defrost terminator helps the freezer remove normal frost buildup from the evaporator without allowing the defrost heater to continue operating after the evaporator has warmed sufficiently. A failed terminator can contribute to heavy evaporator frost, restricted airflow, longer run times, or freezer temperature problems.
