OEM part description
This genuine Sub-Zero freezer defrost heater mounts around the evaporator and provides the heat needed to remove frost during the automatic defrost cycle. When the appliance enters defrost, the heater warms the evaporator area and melts accumulated frost so air can continue moving freely through the freezer cooling system.
Part details
The evaporator must remain clear enough for cold air to move through it. If the defrost heater fails, frost can continue building cycle after cycle until airflow becomes restricted. Common symptoms can include heavy frost behind the freezer panel, warmer freezer temperatures, reduced airflow, or unusually long compressor run times.
