The evaporator fan circulates cold air throughout the refrigerator compartment. A weak, noisy, or failed motor can cause poor airflow, uneven temperatures, excessive fan noise, or food that does not stay properly chilled. Replacing the failed motor helps restore consistent refrigerator cooling and airflow.
