OEM part description
This genuine Sub-Zero isolation valve controls incoming household water before it reaches the appliance water filter and downstream water components. It serves as the first electrically controlled valve in the internal water path, allowing or stopping water flow as required.
Part details
Because this valve is upstream from the filter and other water valves, a restriction or failure can affect more than one water function. A failing isolation valve may cause little or no water flow, slow icemaker filling, reduced dispenser flow on applicable models, leakage, or difficulty shutting off the internal water supply.
Specifications / Important Notes:
- Part Type: Incoming water isolation valve
- Electrical Supply: 120-volt AC
- Water-System Position: Upstream of the water filter
- Primary Role: Opens and closes incoming appliance water flow
- Configuration: Single-valve design
- Components: Genuine Sub-Zero
- Important: The icemaker fill valve and dispenser valves used downstream are separate components.
Tech Tip: When several water functions are weak or not working at the same time, check household water pressure and the isolation valve before assuming multiple downstream components have failed. Since this valve is near the beginning of the water path, a restriction here can affect everything after it.
